Try These Holiday CBD Drinks Instead of Alcohol

You can celebrate, relax and unwind this holiday season without the alcohol. These festive CBD drink recipes will put a sparkle in your eye and a spring in your step without a hangover the next morning. Of course, you can add a splash of rum to our Easy Creamy CBD Eggnog, or spike the Cranberry Rosemary CBD Spritzer with vodka if you wish. But the CBD drink effects are a release from stress without compromising your driving or decision-making.

Intriguingly, studies show that CBD may help to treat alcohol addiction. In one study, animal test subjects addicted to alcohol reduced their alcohol intake when offered CBD. Another study shows CBD may help relieve addictions to opioids, cocaine, psychostimulants and tobacco.

How to Add CBD to Drinks?

You can add the relaxing, stress-busting benefits of CBD or other cannabinoids to your favorite beverage in several ways. CBD tinctures can be added by the dropper full or sprayed on the liquid of the CBD cocktail, then mixed in. You can also use food-grade CBD oil, or even dissolve or blend in your favorite CBD gummy. If you select a flavored tincture or gummy, be sure the flavor melds well with your drink's ingredients to enjoy a delicious CBD drink.

Note: To maximize the benefit of the CBD in your drink, include fat-soluble ingredients like cream, eggs, olive oil, flax seeds, avocado, coconut oil, etc. The fat improves the breakdown of the cannabidiol, ensuring you enjoy the full benefits.

So, whether you're off alcohol, are sober curious, or simply want to enjoy a fun and festive holiday celebration without getting smashed, we've got the CBD drink recipes you've been looking for!

Get your party on!

CBD Drink Recipes

Cranberry Rosemary CBD Spritzer

This savory CBD drink will keep your guests coming back for more.

Cranberry Rosemary CBD Spritzer

For the Rosemary–Infused Simple Syrup:
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
8 large rosemary sprigs
1 star anise
¼ teaspoon ground cloves

For the CBD cocktail:
4 ounces unsweetened cranberry juice
1½ ounces rosemary-infused simple syrup
Ice
2 ounces ginger ale
1-2 Droppers
unflavored CBD tincture

Directions
1. Make the rosemary-infused simple syrup: In a small saucepan, combine all of the ingredients for the rosemary-infused simple syrup. Bring the mixture to a boil and allow to simmer for 1 to 2 minutes, until all the sugar is fully dissolved. Remove from  heat and allow to cool. Strain the syrup and reserve for later use.

2. Make the cocktail: In a stirring glass, add the unsweetened cranberry juice, rosemary-infused simple syrup, CBD tincture and ice, and stir until the mixture is chilled. Add the ginger ale and stir just twice so the ginger ale is blended in but the carbonation hasn't been lost. Strain the CBD drink over ice, then garnish with rosemary and whole cranberries.

Mango Gummy Yummy CBD Mule!

This tangy, tropical delight is a delicious CBD drink for the holidays — winter or summer! It includes a tasty surprise treat at the bottom

Mango Gummy Yummy CBD Mule

You will need:

4-5 slices of cucumber

1 oz honey syrup

1.5 oz mango puree

1.5 oz fresh lime juice

1.5 oz ginger beer

2-3 Mango CBD gummies, or 1-2 droppers of unflavored CBD tincture

Ice

Instructions

First, muddle the cucumber and honey syrup in the bottom of your cocktail shaker. Next, add the mango puree, lime juice, and ice. Shake vigorously. Next, drop the CBD gummies into the bottom of a copper mug. Then, strain the mango puree mixture  onto the gummies. Top with the ginger beer, stir and enjoy!

The gummies will slowly begin to dissolve. At the end of your CBD cocktail, finish off the tasty treats at the bottom of the mule. In this case, the mule's kick is a side of chill. Alternatively, stir in 1-2 droppers of CBD tincture along with the ginger beer.

Stress is inevitable. But how you handle it is a choice! In the contentious, chaotic times, there is one thing we can all agree on — there is just too much stress! Before you decide to continue to just tough it out, ask yourself this: Who in your family, your community or your society benefits from one more over-tired, irritable, impatient, frustrated and over-stressed person just now? Anyone? Self-care is the act of mindfully tending to your own mental, physical and emotional well-being. Self-care is making it a priority to replenish your energy. This is not the same thing as being self-indulgent or selfish. In fact, self-care is an important part of caring for those around you. Care givers, parents, and anyone who helps or works with others must replenish their energies and maintain their own good health in order to continue to be there for others. Just as airlines urge you to get your own oxygen mask in place before you help others, self care ensures you can support those who need you most. Effects of Stress We tend to think "stress is bad", but it is actually more complicated than that. Stress is a survival trait. Stress can motivate you to study, to work harder. Sometimes, stress gives you that burst of energy you need to accomplish your goals. It powers your muscles to remove you from danger, like when you jump out of the way of an oncoming car. When we exercise, we intentionally add stress to our body to strengthen our muscles and endurance. But there are many forms of negative stress, too. Emotional stress that weighs you down, lingering for days, weeks or even months — had any of that lately? —is deeply damaging to the body, mind and spirit. Persistent emotional and mental stress has very physical effects. It weakens your immune system, raises your blood pressure and leads to fatigue, depression and anxiety. Unrelieved stress causes sleeplessness, which simply worsens all the other symptoms, creating a self-perpetuating feedback loop.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a phytocannabinoid discovered in 1940. It is one of 113 identified cannabinoids in cannabis plants and accounts for up to 40% of the plant's extract.[9] As of 2019, clinical research on cannabidiol included studies of anxiety, cognition, movement disorders, and pain, but there is insufficient high-quality evidence that it is effective for these conditions. Cannabidiol can be taken into the body in multiple ways, including by inhalation of cannabis smoke or vapor, as an aerosol spray into the cheek,[1][2] and by mouth. It may be supplied as CBD oil containing only CBD as the active ingredient (no included tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) or terpenes), a full-plant CBD-dominant hemp extract oil, capsules, dried cannabis, or as a prescription liquid solution.[4][11] CBD does not have the same psychoactivity as THC,[12][13] and may change the effects of THC on the body if both are present.[9][12][14][15] As of 2018, the mechanism of action for its putative biological effects has not been determined.[12][14] In the United States, the cannabidiol drug Epidiolex was approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2018 for the treatment of two epilepsy disorders.[16] Since cannabis is a Schedule I controlled substance in the United States,[17] other CBD formulations remain illegal to prescribe for medical use or to use as an ingredient in foods or dietary supplements.
